The start of summer is officially here, and the Saveur du Jour team could not be more excited! We can't wait to pass the summer days outdoors, barbequing with friends and family.
In this newsletter, you'll find all things summer! As summer officially starts June 21st, we are preparing with great summer products, a popular French marinade recipe, and a little history about how the French celebrate the start of summer.
Wishing you sunny days, The Saveur du Jour team
Herbs & mustards, perfect for barbequing!
Saveur du Jour has a variety of spices & herbs in stock that are perfect for adding flavor to your summer dishes. Terre Exotique's sea salt with roasted spices goes great on top of fish, or Herbes de Provence's oregano blend takes homemade pizza to another level!
Or, for an authentic French meal, add dijon mustard to a marinade or dressing. Fallot mustards are back in stock on Saveur du Jour, and their flavor is amazing! From Provence style, to blackcurrant, there is flavor everyone will enjoy.
The World Music Day in France is an annual celebration on June 21st. The festival lasts the entire day and is celebrated in all towns & villages throughout France.
Jack Lang, the French minister of culture, invented this celebration in 1982. He was amazed when he found out that 1 out of 2 people in France played a musical instrument and he wanted a way to bring people out of the streets to enjoy music. This idea rapidly spread, and World Music Day is now celebrated in more than 120 countries!
Easy Provencal marinade
From fish to meats, to vegetables, this marinade will add a French flair to your summer meal. Most ingredients can be found on Saveur du Jour.
A warm hello from our founder, Veronique, at the Côté Sud fair!
