Whether your 4th of July was spent on the beach, next to the barbecue, or just hanging out with family, Saveur du Jour hopes it was a relaxing day! Just like Independence Day in America, Bastille Day on July 14th in France celebrates the capture of the fortress in Paris. In this newsletter, you'll find some interesting facts about Bastille Day as well as July in France, new Provence-themed decor, and a free gift set of postcards!
For the month of July*, you will receive a free sea salt container with the purchase of any sea salt on the Saveur du Jour website. To claim the offer, specify the desired container color (red, grey, beige or white) at checkout. *While quantities last.
As we are entering the month of July, summer is in full swing, and so is vacation!
The Tour de France, a huge cycling race, takes place every year for 3 weeks in July. The cyclists cover over 2,000 miles of ground through small villages and conclude in Paris! The entirety of this event is filmed and is a popular event for the French to watch on TV.
Lastly, on July 14th, France celebrates Bastille Day, to remember the French Revolution on July 14th 1789. Just like America's fourth of July, Bastille Day in France is celebrated with firework shows everywhere, as well as a military parade on the Champs Elysees and a flyover by the French air force.
